What’s up guys? I will be reviewing the Skullcandy Hesh 3 wireless headphones. The price point is kind of like an in-between spot it’s not too expensive but it’s not cheap either. So, in this review I’m going to go over all the pros and cons in case you’re interested in picking these headphones. I’ll tell you if it’s worth it.

Design

First of all, the thing that really struck me was just that how simple and plain they are, and I really like that there is no crazy graphics or colors on the headphones. It’s so minimal for a wireless pair of headphones there is only three buttons.

On its backside of the right ear cup of the Hesh 3 Wireless you have your volume up and down rocker it’s embedded in

theses rubber buttons. The middle is like you play, pause, take a call, etc. Underneath that is a micro-USB port for charging it. You also have your 3.5-millimeter headphone jack on the bottom in case you want to use these wired if the battery dies. Then in the front side of the ear cup is also a little inline mic for you know like I said taking calls.

This Skullcandy wireless headphone does expand to fit larger heads. It fits nicely up top. They are just light weights with the ear cups. You have definite ample padding as well as a little of padding on the top of the headband. These are lightweight pair of headphones.

The ear cups swivel 90 degrees along the headband as well and one of the favorite things about these headphones is not only, they can lay flat on a surface or something like around your neck, but they also fold into the headband making these very portable through bringing them with you on the go.

Sound

With the sound quality, I want to mention is we do have 40-millimeter drivers here on the Hesh 3 Wireless and like I said just tons of padding on the ear cups. They do a really good job of creating like a suction and isolating and eliminating any background noise around you. These do not have an active noise canceling as some headphones do but they like I said do a good job eliminating the sound and creating a good suction.

Now let’s talk more about the sound quality that’s going to be one of the most important aspects when you’re evaluating which headphones to buy. So, talking about bass, these really shine in the mid loads of that area where you get a nice tight punch all around your music.

I listen to a bunch of things from like electronic, hip-hop stuff like that on Spotify and Apple Music. I tested a variety of songs here and really found the bass shines. Now as far as the mids and trebles are concerned I found these straight away from that flat response and thought most audio files would prefer but again these aren’t made for audio files themselves. I felt like the mids were kind of toned back and overall, I think the whole sound signature here was just tight and punchy throughout. So, with the vocals and stuff, they weren’t overly crystallized. Overall, I think favoring the bass. So, if you’re a bass head, you’re probably going to like these.

Battery

Now the next important thing is going to be the battery life and these headphones have a ratio about 22 hours listening. I tested them the whole week that pretty much held up. What really makes me happy is that they have battery quick charge technology where if you just charge these up for five minutes you get ninety minutes of battery life.

So, say you’re walking around campus or something like that you’re going on a car ride and these are dead, well charge them for five minutes and you will have an hour and a half of battery which is good. Like I mentioned earlier they include the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack so, you can also use them if the battery dies.

Conclusion

To recap I would say I love the design of these headphones. It is simple and minimal. It’s very lightweight and comfortable which obviously is going to be a plus to anybody who wants to wear these out getting like a headache or anything. Sound quality I thought was very good considering the price point here.

For cons the Bluetooth technology, I believe is rated for 33 feet. I found that it does have a hard time going that distance when there are walls in between. So, while it works for me no problem around my workplace but when I’m starting to go to different rooms or across the apartments it started to cut out a little, but I mean for $130 here it’s hard to complain.

They’re wireless, they look good, they sound good, I’m a fan of them so, minor cons like I mentioned in the end for that price point is not too bad. You look at the competition out there wireless pair of headphones again not a headset I’m a fan of that. I think it’s a pretty solid price. It is available in Black, Navy Blue,Grey and Red. I hope you gained something from this review. If you have, any questions please let me know below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

  1. I had to take a look at your post and I happened upon it. My younger daughter is always going video games or YouTube videos and there are times where I just don’t want to hear them; especially when I’m trying to sleep and she’s still in their on her laptop! My older daughter loves to play her music very loud. There are times when a headset for her would be really great, too! I love how this pair folds up so compactly. Easy to throw into a backpack with less risk of their breaking. Can these headphones be plugged in and be charging while you are using them? Thanks for your nice review and might check them out after seeing if my daughters might want some 🙂 (crossing my fingers).

    1. Yes Lynee, you can also use the Skullcandy Hesh 3 while it is charging. I’m pretty sure your daughter is going to love this. Goodluck!

  2. I’m about ready to abandon wired headphones especially because my headphone jack just stopped working and beyond that I need a solution for my gym time. For wireless headphones like these, there’s immense value seeing how cheap yet quality headphones can be picked from of all the countless ones that are on the market. I personally would buy this if I needed a quick fix, which is why I’m considering buying these (plus I’m familiar with Skullcandy already).

    1. Yes, especially while you are working out you need these type of headphones, because they are wireless so less of tangles and they do stay in your ear regardless of you working out or jogging. That is mostly because of the elegant design of this headphone. I really hope you like this headphones. Goodluck Ryan.

  3. I’ve actually never bought wireless headphones before, are they strictly wireless or can you use a usb cord to connect them to your laptop to listen to music? And can you tell me what kind of batteries they use, are they lithium ion, the kind that sometimes explode? Otherwise, I like the way they look, and how lightweight they appear to be so that’s a plus.

  4. Do you have any experience trying these out in a relatively crowded area from a bluetooth perspective? One of the issues I run into with my TaoTronics noise cancelling headphones is that even at short distance they get choppy when I’m at the gym.

My assumption is it is based on so many other bluetooth signals floating around from the tons of wireless headphones, so just figured I’d ask. Perhaps your office is like that with lots of wireless headsets?

    1. Yes, I have tried using them in a noisy environment. They do decent job giving a clear voice and audio. I’m not really sure how many people use wireless headsets in my office. Thank you for your comment.

  5. You have did an awesome review Sujandar. I plan to buy these headphones for my sister and they look wonderful. What I like the most is it’s design that is so powerful and I like that they are wireless. They are not expensive at all but in any way it is worth it.

  6. I think the SkullCandy wireless headphones are exactly what I’ve been looking for. I listen to classical music all day long as I work at the computer. It helps to keep me focused. Unfortunately, it’s been impossible to find headphones that are comfortable to wear all day long that also have a good sound.

I’ll admit, the price tag for these headphones is a bit higher than I had hoped to pay, after reading your review, I’m more confident it will be money well spent. Thanks for helping me find a solid set of headphones.

  7. Hi, I think this earphones are perfect for me, I love the Red color and the fact it is fast for charging and if the battery dies I can still use it with the cable. I jus have one question, I will like to use it while doing my spinning it will be great for that purpose? or it will be too sweatty? Thanks in advance.

  8. Yeah, I find this price very affordable, compared to other premium headphones. I also like the simple design, and how compact it is when swiveled to fold inwards, it can fit nicely into my handbag. The 22 hours of battery life for listening is something that really draws me in. Will be checking this out. Thanks for the great review!

  9. Nice review. I’ve been looking for headphones and this review was very helpful in my search. I really like the compact design so the headphones are portable. Especially if you commute, you want something light that can travel well but still have good quality. Do you think they are sturdy enough for stuffing into a bag when you travel a lot?

  10. I really liked what you had to say about these headsets. The problem that I am having is the headsets I use for gaming are all hardwired but my cats seem to think that the wire is some kind of toy they need to chew on. I was wondering if these, having a headset, would be usable in a gaming capacity? Also when you are just wearing them around the office how are they as far as getting to hot on your head or do they breathe well to avoid sweat? Thanks

  11. This is really cool. I am always on the road or in the air due to my job and the only way I am getting through all that traveling is by listening to music. I put in earbuds, turn on my music, and just wake me up when we get there.

But lately these apple ear buds haven’t been getting the job done for me. The wire is always getting in my way and they don’t pack enough Bass for my upbeat music. So I have been in the market for some affordable headphones and that is why I am so glad I came across this site. Exactly the style I was looking for and for a reasonable price. I am definitely going to check these out. Great review, very helpful.

  12. I love the colours at the end.  My younger daughter would love the red one where as my older daughter would love the blue ones.  I would choose black, I really love the fact that they fold up for easier travel and wireless is awesome, so you don’t have the annoying wires catching on everything every time you move your head.  I also really like the rubber buttons and the fact that you can pause it.  It makes it really easy to pause for a moment when you need to.  I have a pause options on my earbuds which I love.

  13. Hi There,

    Your post is very interesting.

I like that you mentioned that these headphones would fit people with bigger heads, because I do have

In your opinion, do you think these headphones would work well for listening to meditation tunes and binaural beats? If not, is there what kind of headphone would you recommend?

I wish you all the best 🙂

    Vik

    1. I really think these headphones will be the right ones for the meditation tunes and the bin-aural beats. I’m saying this from my experience. Thank you.

  14. Music is my passion and my life.  The problem is finding a good comfortable and affordable pair of wireless headphones.  This is a great review because it seems like exactly what would work for me.I have an issue with headphones being to heavy because they give me head aches.  This looks like something I might just try.  Thank you for the great info.

  15. HI Sujandar, Thanks for your review on the Skullcandy Wireless Headphones – Hesh 3 Wireless. I have been looking for some wireless earphones for my teenager for Christmas and thought that these sounded great and really well priced and are durable enough by the looks of it. I like the fact that they have a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack incase the battery dies. I have this problem with my wireless headphones all the time and the wire is really short and I cant wear them and charge at the same time. I wanted to know if you can you get a hard case for them, because if he was carrying them around in his school bag they may get damaged with all the other stuff in the school bag? Thanks for the heads up on a great pair of reasonably priced headphones for Christmas giving. Mary
